- 1993 - Incorporation of Joint Stock Company ESMA. One of the
founders of the company is P.N. Lebedev Physical
Institute of Russian Academy of Sciences.
- 1994 - ESMA research laboratories and prototype production
facilities established in the city of Troitsk, Moscow region.
- 1995 - Startup of ESMA asymmetric capacitor pilot-line production.
- 1996 - Startup of testing, initial field trials and ESMA
capacitor sales in Russia.
- 1997 - Receipt of grant from Moscow Government to design and
develop a number of electric buses and light trucks.
- 1998 - North American market penetration. Start of ESMA
asymmetric supercapacitor laboratory and cold
room tests by different USA
companies.
- 1999 - Commencement of ESMA asymmetric capacitor field trials
and sales in the USA.
- 2000 - Creation of series of cells and modules optimized to
meet performance requirements of specific applications.
- 2001 - Development and delivery of the first 100 kW UPS (Ride
Through) system based on ESMA capacitors.
- 2002 - Development of new-generation electrochemical capacitors
with enhanced power and energy parameters. Large-scale production
preparation.
